- ID Proof - The most important document is a government-approved ID. Usually, an Aadhaar Card, a Passport, a Voter ID, or a Driving License is accepted. ( And if you are below 18 or just turned 18 and don’t have your Voter ID and Driving Licence, then you can just use your Aadhaar card)
- Address Proof - Some PGs ask for your permanent address proof for record purposes. Here, your Aadhaar Card or a passport would work.
- College / Work ID - If you’re a student, your college ID card or admission letter may be required. For working professionals, a company ID or offer letter often works.
- Photographs – Keep a few passport-sized photographs always ready. Many PGs still ask for them to attach to your application form.
- Emergency contact details – It's not a document or something, but most of the PGs ask for these details in case of any emergency.
- Rental Agreement - Some PGs provide an official rental agreement. In that case, you’ll just need to sign and keep a copy for yourself.
Tip – always double-check what’s included in your agreement, like rent, deposit, facilities, and notice period—so there are no surprises later.
