- ID Proof - The most important document is a government-approved ID. Usually, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License is accepted. ( And if you are below 18 or just turned 18 and don’t have your Voter ID and Driving Licence then you can just use your Aadhaar card)
- Address Proof - Some PGs ask for your permanent address proof for record purposes. Here your Aadhaar Card, or a passport would work.
- College / Work ID - If you’re a student, your college ID card or admission letter may be required. For working professionals, a company ID or offer letter often works.
- Photographs – Keep a few passport sized photographs always ready. Many PGs still ask for them to attach to your application form.
- Emergency contact details – its not a document or something, but most of the pgs ask for these details in case of any emergency.
- Rental Agreement - Some PGs provide an official rental agreement. In that case, you’ll just need to sign and keep a copy for yourself.
Tip – always double check what’s included in your agreement like rent, deposit, facilities, and notice period—so there are no surprises later.
